The collaborative design project was conducted by THEi Product Design and Caritas Community Centre - Aberdeen on sustainable furniture for sub-divided units. Teaching Fellow Andy Lai led a team of 8 product design students to design a piece of furniture targeted on “small changes make a difference” through a participatory approach, which is a valuable opportunity to contribute to society.

The targeted sub-divided flats were located in Aberdeen and Tin Wan. Through interviews with the family, site visits and actual measurements in the flat, a practical furniture had been designed and produced to enhance the living condition of the tenants.
