Otsu Shibayacho Ebisuya was once a Yukaku (a red-light district building) in the Edo period in 17th Century Japan. Meiji period with the influence of Western thinking, the building has represented the culture of both Japanese and western in the architectural style. With the banding policy of the red-light district in the modern period, this history has been abandoned and restricted from telling. 

By restoring the Ebisuya and the history with the people in Otsu, a new chapter of the house is yet to tell.
